A few legends are known along the Muglbach, also from Hardeck The legend of the castle wood In the Burgholz below Hardeck Castle there was once a mine. There the dwarf king had his castle. A dwarf fell in love with the maid Nanni Webermatzn von Hardeck. He followed her all the way to her chamber. In Neualbenreuth, young and old laughed at her. They were also called dwarf Nanni or imp bride. Nanni tried to fight back and get rid of him. But the dwarf would only leave her if she guessed his name. This one was very unusual. By chance, a boy from Neualbenreuth heard the little man sing one morning: "If my dirnderl knows that my name is Dienzel Deinzel, then don't ever let me know, I'll be all alone." When the dwarf came, like every evening, Nanni laughed at him and told him his name straight out. The dwarf slapped her in the face, the door slammed shut and he was never seen again.
