The area in front of the tunnel is secured with a chain and has a warning about suddenly escaping mine water. You shouldn't stay there for long and walk past quickly. The water comes from the tunnel system behind this tunnel and probably represents a danger. Nevertheless, it is interesting to take a quick look at this ensemble and take a look at the information boards.

The paved walking and cycling path leads to the Lourdes grotto and to the Mitterhof monastery with its ostrich farm. In the middle of nature, the grotto is a much-visited place of prayer and devotion. New life has returned to Gut Mitterhof. In the farm café there is coffee and homemade cakes every Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m., in the farm shop you can buy ostrich products, e.g. B. feathers and eggs, meat and sausage, eggnog, ostrich fat and articles made of ostrich leather, hand-spun wool and much more.

On the initiative of the Fichtelgebirgsverein Arzberg and the working group "Altes Bergwerk" became a remnant of the more than 700-year Arzberg mining history in 2008, the 1722 Transport and drainage tunnels that were created and filled more than 50 years ago, the so-called tunnel mouth at the Silberquelle in G`steinigt, were uncovered. In 1944 an air raid shelter was to be set up here. The tunnel could be freely walked about 50 to 100 meters, then it was closed by a grid. Unfortunately, the tunnel has been closed for some time for safety reasons. There is probably an acute danger of a “mine water explosion”. The water that flows out of the Sankt Georg tunnel is collected as a silver source in front of the tunnel.

Goethe, himself a follower of Neptunism, visited the volcano in 1808, 1820 and 1822 to conduct scientific studies in connection with this dispute.[2] He described the volcano as follows: “The Kammerbühl (hill), otherwise also Kammerberg, takes its name from a neighboring forest district and a complex of few houses there, called the Kammer. It shows up when you walk from Franzensbrunn to Eger, about half an hour to the right of the path.” At his suggestion, a few years after his death (1834-37), Kaspar Maria von Sternberg dug a tunnel system through the hill. When the crater filled with basalt was encountered, the volcanic origin of Komorní hůrka (Kammerbühl) could finally be established be proven. The model of all the Lourdes grottos is the historic pilgrimage Massabielle in the sacred area of Lourdes in southern France, where in 1858 the pious country girl Bernadette Soubirous experienced a total of 18 times the mysterious apparition of Saint Mary.
