The Inningen reservoir is an artificial lake on the Wertach in the south of Augsburg, between the districts of Inningen and Göggingen. It was created by damming the Wertach for a hydroelectric power plant and is used both for energy production and as a local recreation area. The area around the Inningen reservoir offers numerous leisure activities: • Hiking and cycling: There are well-developed paths along the lake that are ideal for walks and bike rides. A popular route leads from Inningen across the reservoir to Bobingen and back. • Nature observation: The renaturalized banks of the Wertach provide a habitat for various animal and plant species, which is particularly interesting for nature lovers. As the lake is primarily used for energy production, water sports such as swimming or boating are generally not permitted. It is advisable to pay attention to the current information on site.
