A beautiful 2.5km long path leads completely around the motorway lake. Numerous benches and sunbathing lawns invite you to linger. A children's playground, barbecue areas, toilets and a beer garden are also on site. Swimming in the lake is possible in summer.

The Augsburg Kahnfahrt is a traditional leisure facility in the heart of Augsburg that has existed since 1876. It is located on the Oblatterwall and offers boat trips on the city moat. In addition to the boat rental, there is a restaurant with a beer garden that invites you to linger.  In May 2024, the Kahnfahrt was reopened with a new concept. Regio Augsburg Tourismus GmbH temporarily took over operations and integrated the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Augsburg Water Management System” as well as historical figures from the city into the offer. New exhibition and event formats have been developed that make the history and culture of Augsburg come alive.  The boat rental offers various boats, including traditional rowing boats, electric boats and kayaks. The “Romantic Boat Trip” is particularly romantic, where a rowing boat is equipped with warm blankets, pillows, prosecco and a sweet treat upon prior reservation.  The restaurant with beer garden right on the water invites you to linger after the boat tour. Here, guests can enjoy regional specialties and let their gaze wander over the city moat and the historic city wall.  The Augsburg boat trip is a popular excursion destination for locals and tourists alike and offers a unique combination of nature, history and culinary delights.

We are currently remodeling, demolishing the black building, supporting the wall. It is scheduled to reopen in May, but not as a restaurant.
