Angel oak The angel oak is named after Engelbert Humperdinck (1854 - 1921). Apparently a tent camp had recently taken place here. The hut is equipped with sanitary facilities. There is electricity connection. A refrigerator with chilled drinks was still in use. (Obviously from the camp and not for hikers!) My impression was that this infrastructure is primarily provided for activities in consultation with the community ..... The name Stierwiese is derived from the intended purpose. The meadow owned by the community was used until the 1960s by the keeper of the community bull in Oppenhausen, who harvested green forage and hay here in equal measure.
