The Hauserbachsee, created in 1970 by building a dam, is a reservoir near Miehlen that is about 500 meters long and over 8 meters deep. The Brandsweiher owes its name not to a possible fire fighting but - like the forest and some other places on the Prinzenstein - to the knight BRAND VON WERLAU. There used to be a cultivated meadow here, but the "Gute Hope" ore mine required water power to operate the stamping mill to smash the ore rock.
