Perfect for dogs to cool off in the summer

The "Red Sea" lies between the villages of Mensfelden and Heringen. In 2001, the Heringen fishing club took over the maintenance of the pond and has been looking after the facility ever since.

The Beuerbach Lake is an artificial pond that lies in a valley between the districts of Wallrabenstein, Beuerbach and Bechtheim in the municipality of Hünstetten in the Rheingau-Taunus district (Hesse). The lake is fed by the Schornbach and Klingelbach. The idea for the reservoir came from Egon Alberti, who was a member of the municipal council and a member of the Beuerbach local council at the time. On May 30, 1979, the engineer Ernst Zimmermann from Westerburg was commissioned to plan the project and on May 17, 1982 the groundbreaking ceremony took place. On September 17, 1982, the inflow lock was closed and on October 22, 1982, the "Beuerbach Participants' Association" handed the lake over to the municipality. Since then, the Beuerbach Lake has been a popular local recreation destination for hikes, walks, family outings, nature lovers and photographers. Simply a great park with a lot to discover.

The landscape park is elaborately and lovingly designed. There is something for all ages to experience here: from a sandpit and playground for the little ones to a football pitch and skate park to a sunbathing area, boules pitch and fitness equipment, everything is there to have a good time. I found the nutrias particularly funny – not to be confused with muskrats.

Always worth a visit ... the Beuerbacher See

A beautifully located place that cannot be seen from the outside even if you are about to stand in front of it. Only when you drive a few meters further do you come to the lake. Very idyllic and quiet 🤐 location.
