Currently, some sections of the route are heavily overgrown. However, a tour is still definitely worth it. (Incidentally, we were on the part that is part of the Kassel-Steig)

a very beautiful valley unfortunately the trails are hardly rideable anymore

Status 09/23, actually free, there are no more trees that could fall in ;-) But it's extremely overgrown, with lots of nettles and thorns - ouch! Not all stream crossings have bridges; after heavy rain, the streams are sometimes very washed out and difficult to navigate.

Rest area on the way from the Helfensteinen up to the Dörnberg. You experience the change in nature, away from the plateau, now through basalt formations and the further ascent to the Hoher Dörnberg.

Interesting gorge with a short steep climb. Feasible by MTB, but you have to carry or push it on the stairs.
