Alpine hut with a magnificent view of the Hohenlohe region. The hut offers traditional, simple dishes, homemade cakes, and a good selection of drinks. The decor conveys the feeling of a mountain vacation.

The Naturfreundehaus Steinknickle is idyllically situated on the edge of the forest and is ideal for a rest or as a starting point for hikes. Today, October 5, 2025, was even a family day.

The alpine hut is a real highlight! In summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the stunning view. 🌿⛰️ The food is excellent, the drinks are top-notch, and the prices are absolutely fair. Breakfast is especially recommended – it's best to reserve a table in advance! 🥐☕ The cozy interior is also inviting when the weather is cooler. The only downside: the hut isn't always open, so it's worth checking the website to see the opening days. 👍

The so-called Grünhäusle has existed for several hundred years. The exact date of construction is not known, but it was built around 1740. It served as a place for forest protection personnel to stay and to protect themselves from bad weather. After the storm "Lothar" it was renovated in April 2000.

Here you have a beautiful view and get delicious food. Unfortunately only open on a few weekends.
