🏠 Haus Breitmaar is a historic farmstead in the Sindorf district of Kerpen (near the border with Blatzheim) and looks back on a centuries-long history. Today it is primarily known as an exclusive event venue and for its idyllic location.

the memorial plaque is still there but the information about the area has disappeared and the display is empty so it's not really worth going here

The refuge is easy to reach via a connection from the cycle path along the B477 via the Hambachbahn south of Heppendorf. From there it is only a few meters.

There is a shelter on the northern Steinheide, which, according to a sign on the hut, was built there by RWE in 2023. It is located on the edge of the forest, and although there are many traffic routes there, it is wonderfully quiet. It is a beautiful place. In the hut there is a large table and two benches. Ideal for hanging out.
