The stream valley is very calming and beautiful, and in summer cows roam there. Not recommended after heavy or long periods of rain, as the ground becomes very soft and muddy.

A detour to the Wolfsschlucht is worth it.

Narrow path through the beech forest, which can be a bit overgrown in summer.

The Itertal is worth planning a route at any time of the year. You can walk through here from Kornelimünster to Aachen - Sief.

On this section you go along the Flachsbach, also called Eggerbach, down into the Tiefental, which belongs to the district of Stolberg / Büsbach. The Flachs-Eggerbach rises between Stolberg Breinig and Stolberg Büsbach and flows into the Inde at Elgermühle

The trail is well-maintained. Depending on your direction, it can be a gentle climb or a pleasant descent. Watch out for pedestrians.

The Iterbach is a natural river that flows into the Inde from the left at Kornelimünster in the Aachen city region. The Iterbach rises in the Osthertogenwald, south of Raeren in Belgium. At Grenzstein 927, near the town of Sief, he crosses the border into Germany. The Periolbach, Belvener Bach, Brandenburg receiving streams, Schniders receiving streams, Reybach and Orsbach all flow to it. It is close to nature, but polluted by the surrounding intensive agriculture and sewage from Belgium. The valley of the same name is spanned by the Itertal Viaduct of the Vennbahn before Kornelimünster. The stone bridge structure (viaduct) from 1885 is a listed building. After the railway was closed, the Vennbahn cycle path now leads over it.

For some time now, cycling has even been allowed here (contrary to the Komoot route planning information): Pedestrian path with additional white sign "Bicycles free". I still recommend driving carefully here (especially downhill) so as not to endanger pedestrians. But the journey here is definitely much more pleasant than on the main road.
