The climb of torture. The best climb when you drive from Vlotho towards Bad Salzuflen. It's a joy!

Anyone who goes for a walk in the Doberg rarely gets their feet wet these days. Things were completely different 30 million years ago! At that time the North Sea still stretched here with a water depth of around 20 meters. Toothed whales and manatees lived in this shallow prehistoric sea. The most famous discovery was made by a worker in the marl pit: in 1912, he discovered the almost completely preserved skeleton of a manatee. The Doberg manatee is actually the earliest known ancestor of today's manatee manatees. Even apart from this important discovery, the Doberg is a fascinating natural spectacle. However, some unofficial paths are now blocked with chains or fences due to nature conservation. The main path and the paths around the forest offer enough insights.

Coming from Exter, it's also a fairly steep descent. The path is more of a small gorge. If there are many pedestrians on the way, it is advisable to get off, as there is actually no alternative.

From the viewing platform you can see parts of the surrounding mountains, a section of the Weser Valley and a southern area of the North German Plain.

The Moltketurm is an approx. 14 meter high observation tower on the Wittekindsberg near the Porta Westfalica. The tower stands on the ridge directly on the stretch of the Witekindsweg and the European long-distance hiking trail E11.

A relatively steep and beautiful forest path. Cyclists are advised to dismount better.

Somewhat bizarre and quite noticeable rock formation. Very nice corner.
