The Lewenberg is a 312.6 m above sea level mountain in the Teutoburg Forest near Bielefeld-Lämershagen and, after the Auf dem Polle (320 m), the second highest mountain in Bielefeld. The Lewenberg is located in the Eastern Teutoburg Forest nature reserve. To the north of it is the Lietegge (285 m), to the east is the Maakenberg (286.5 m), to the south is the “Markengrund” weekend house area and to the west is the Auf dem Polle (320 m), as well as the A 2. (if you can do it with bunny hop, you won't have any problems here) The path splits high up - so there are various descents - steep and stony. However, if you start from the Eisgrund parking lot, you have an extremely demanding and exhausting trail ahead of you. The subsequent descent is exciting and can sometimes be very fast. With an altitude of 320 meters, this mountain section is the highest elevation in Bielefeld and anyone who wants to go up here needs strength in their legs, because the ascent (regardless of which side) is quite steep and rough. The entire trail stretches about 1.7 kilometers over the ridge and can be ridden very smoothly in places. "Auf dem Polle" is steep, rooty, stony and there is a risk of falling due to some tricky inclines! (hence the high ST classification) Left and right it grows beautifully green in spring, but this summit has a highlight in every season. There is also another descent from Lewenberg (313 m). This has the level of difficulty S3 and is narrow from spring through green plants, then changes to normal, wide forest floor, but the path itself remains rocky and it goes extremely steeply downhill, without curves. The ground is partly slippery and loose scree is to be expected. But there is another great descent, which is much steeper, so there is an increased risk of slipping on the stony ground.
