The Tannbach castle ruins are located on a rock above the Kleine Mühl. It is estimated that the castle was built around 1190 by Walther de Tannenberch. Unfortunately, only a few remnants of it remain today. Because when the surrounding houses were rebuilt, the fragments of Tannberg Castle were used. The lower castle, the so-called Pflegerstöckl, with the Gothic windows and the ashlar masonry of the gate tower are inhabited today and can therefore only be viewed from the outside. Pürnstein Castle in Neufelden in the Bohemian Forest holiday region. Pürnstein Castle has towered over the valley of the Große Mühl since the late 10th century. The Birchenstainers gave both her and the settlement their name. But they were just one of many families that have ruled the castle over the centuries. Pürnstein has a lot to tell.
