The Pionierweiher pond lies hidden in the Königsforst forest east of Cologne, near Forsbach and the Giesbach valley. A short detour to this tranquil body of water in the middle of the woods is well worth it. Standing on the bank, you can watch the dragonflies dancing and listen to a chorus of frogs.

The hut is simple but charming, with a covered seating area that offers shelter from the rain and invites you to linger.

The Schmitzebud offers drinks and snacks as well as a guest restroom.

This is a good place to rest, protected from the weather. It is on the "herb trail", one of the mountainous forays.

The "Hülle" is a historic vantage point in the vineyards of Königswinter-Oberdollendorf. The vineyards are located on the western slope of the Dollendorfer Hardt, the northernmost mountain in the Siebengebirge. The vantage point is at a height of 150 meters and you have a wonderful view of various mountains in the Siebengebirge, the Rhine Valley with Bonn and Königswinter about 100 meters below, and in good weather on the other side of the Rhine far into the Drachenfelser Ländchen. The first stage of the Rheinsteig as well as the Oberdollendorf wine trail lead past here.
