The Roßgasse is a striking, rocky gully on the north side of the Rauschberg. It rises steeply between the rock faces, forming an impressive natural passage in the rock. It probably owes its name to the timber and coal harvesters of bygone times, who rode their "Rossn" (horses) along this path to bring materials from the mountain forests down to the valley below.

The descent from Reiteralm is a trail to the Schwarzache River. The first section is manageable. However, there's a good stretch where you have to carry your e-bike up steps to Weißbachstraße. This is not suitable for heavy e-bikes.

The trail will reopen in 2024 after renovation and construction of new bridges! Increased risk of rockfall in the gorge after heavy rain

If you pay attention to the hollows in the rock face while hiking along the forest railway path, you can spot a funny little group of gnomes here and there. Thumbs up to whoever took the trouble to set up the figures - a great idea!

The view through these valleys is just beautiful!

In the beginning the path is still pleasant to walk but it gets steeper and steeper, you have to love sand travel to walk down it.
