A very beautiful lake

Whether you are a swimmer or a boater in the warm summer water, an ice skater or curling player on the frozen lake or a walker around the lake: As a leisure paradise, the Wöhrsee guarantees a natural experience with extra-long panoramic views of the castle in every season. There is also a winter bathing area, which is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. this season from October 15, 2024 to March 31, 2025. It is of course closed when there is snow or ice.

The carp there are really huge. Of course you can't eat them anymore because of their age. Lucky you! ;-)

Below the world's longest castle lies an enchanting treasure: the emerald green and beautifully situated historic Wöhrseebad. Once you've been there, you'll definitely want to go back. To where you can jump into the fresh water from the whale-back-wide wooden jetty, where you'll want to keep looking up while swimming, up to the truly endless castle. Where you can lie on the expansive green lawn, read and count the clouds. Where you can walk through the historic bathing complex, on wooden jetties, past ancient changing rooms. And be transported to another time, when soldiers learned to swim here in the 19th century and nuns and monks bathed separately at the beginning of the 20th century.

Beautiful location, not only as a place to swim, but also a great opportunity for a pleasant rest by the water. Wonderful view. A worthwhile destination for a tour or for a detour off the main route.
