Thank you @Niklas for the detailed description, I should have read that before taking the descent via the "South Route" last Friday. I didn't think anything of it and finally noticed that the descent is only via Schrofenkletterei, a somewhat tricky slab crossing and a final short 5-meter UIAA II point where you have to hold on to the rock on the right in the direction of descent. Luckily the handles are very good, so I was able to climb down "without any problems". Definitely an experience I didn't have in mind. If you want less adrenaline, you can descend again on the north side, which is not without its steepness (T4+ to T5-). On that day I also had the Maiwand in my bones, I found it even easier :D

The Way of the Cross, which was built in 1733/1734, with its 15 stations has largely been preserved in its original state. Thus the beaver is one of the first stations of the cross in Bavaria. Settlement of the Biberhöhe has been proven until the early 19th century. The last hermit died in 1813.

The large and the small Spielberhöhle are close together. The Big Spielberhöhle is not a show cave. Caving in the arbor area requires great experience, fitness and climbing skills. The entrance of the Großer Spielberghöhle is at 1341 m altitude, it is with about 1200 m total length, the second largest cave after the keyhole cave and with 180 m the deepest cave in Laubensteingebiet.
