Sea is so colourful

A magical, special hostel!

Fort Marlborough was built by the British in 1720. Conveniently located at the entrance to Mao Port. It was almost entirely carved out of rock and fits perfectly into the landscape. The fortress that can be visited today is the last time the British built it in 1798. Admission 3 euros (free on Mondays). For another 3 euros you can rent headphones with information about the individual stations. The visit lasts approx. 30 - 60 minutes and is recommended.

The phenomenal service. Very nice and very welcoming. The only place in all of Cala en Porter that has allowed our dog to sit on the terrace.

If you have already seen typical Spanish or Portuguese fortresses from that time, you can really save yourself the trip, at most useful as a bycatch to the Torre. The name of the fortress is Castell Sant Antoni

Entry costs €8 per person, it's worth it, takes about 2 hours to walk around the site, huge complex/fortress.

Monday is always free access; However, the approach on the main road is not so nice, so I moved the outward journey along the sea if possible and only drove on the main road on the way back. Traffic was limited for May 14th.

Actually a worth seeing ruin. Only a pity that the skylights, which would provide a glimpse into the inside, are totally filthy (as of 14.06.2019) and thus make this impossible.
