A wonderful spot. I understand that this was once an alpine pasture. Today it's a lovely shelter for a great picnic and has lovely hammocks for relaxing. It's beautiful here.

The Adelegg mountain range was not settled on a large scale until after 1700. Emmental cheese was produced on the Schletteralpe until 1896. After that, the dairy was converted into a restaurant. For five decades, the Schleier attracted numerous hikers and skiers to the Adelegg. In 1962, no new tenant was found and the once proud alpine pasture fell into ruin. A fire finally did the rest. Today, there is a weather shelter on the site.

The hut is open from November 1st to Good Friday. During this time it is open every Saturday from 2 p.m. to midnight and every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Here, rustic charm meets top regional quality. Every dish is freshly prepared in a traditional way, which takes a little time - but it's worth it. The ingredients come from the area and attention is paid to freshness and quality. Special highlights are the regular music evenings. As early as 1924, the central raised bog core and its non-peat-drained surroundings were protected as a protected forest. In 1937, other parts of the area were designated as a nature reserve (Dornacher Ried with Häckler Ried, Häcklerweiher and Buchsee).
