ピアッツァ・グランデはロカルノの活気ある中心部です。特徴的なアーケードのある広大な広場には、レストラン、カフェ、ショップが並んでいます。特にロカルノ国際映画祭の開催地として有名で、この時期には広場が大きな野外映画館へと姿を変えます。日中は散策に誘い、夜には南国情緒あふれる、雰囲気のある地中海風の空間が広がります。

This church has been entrusted to the local community not by one of the (almost countless) saints, but by "Santa Croce" (the Holy Cross). Perhaps a brief stop here is the perfect opportunity for hikers and walkers to offer a short meditation and a prayer to God. I would therefore like to invite you to prayerfully contemplate God's infinite love for us, revealed in Christ nailed to the wood of the cross. Perhaps a saying by the Spanish founder of the religious order, Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556), might be helpful: "It is precisely where human hopes fall lowest that trust in God rises highest. For where all human help gives way, there divine help takes its place."

A beautiful old stone bridge. Open to cyclists and pedestrians.

The Ponte dei Salti is a medieval stone bridge with two arches over the emerald-green waters of the Verzasca River near Lavertezzo in Ticino. It was built in the 17th century and is considered a regionally important cultural asset. The arches have spans of approximately 14 meters. In 1868, part of the bridge was damaged by flooding (particularly an abutment on the right bank), causing one arch to collapse. It was later rebuilt in 1960. The Ponte dei Salti is not only a popular photo subject but also a swimming and diving spot. Some people jump from the bridgehead into the cold, clear water – although the current and deep pools pose dangers, especially at high water levels.

You can hear the goats' bells in the background, and you can find a wonderfully quiet bathing spot to relax, read, and swim, not so crowded, but easily accessible.
