The El Cuchillo reservoir, popularly known as Charca el Cuchillo, is a small dam that collects water from the two valleys that pour into it: Valle Crispín and Valle Brosque. It is almost a neighbor of the popular Charca de Tahodio, and it just so happens that El Cuchillo was built just a couple of years after finishing the one in Tahodio.

La Charca El Cuchillo, also known as Embalse de El Cuchillo, is a small reservoir located very close to the Bufadero ravine. Its construction, carried out in just a few months, began just after finishing the neighboring Charca de Tahodio, a neighboring reservoir, although larger. It is loaded with water mainly with the autumn and winter rains.

The 22000 m² large area with beautiful View of the auditorium, the Palmetum botanical gardens and the sea was posthumously designed in 1995 based on plans by César Manrique. Three seawater pools, salt waterfalls, volcanic rock islands, palm trees, ornamental plants and wind chimes and a small beach with access to the sea...... Unfortunately the park was closed when I was there. It was the day of the carnival parade!

Getting in was a bit tricky as there is a construction site there. But it was really worth it. Beautiful views await you.
