Once an open-cast mining pit, Lake Olbersdorf is now a local recreation area. Located at the foot of the Zittau Mountains, this bathing lake with a sandy beach stretches between Olbersdorf and Zittau. Once a year, at the beginning of August, the O-See Challenge takes place here, attracting hundreds of triathletes and thousands of spectators.

The Neuberzdorfer Höhe observation tower is an observation tower built in 2007–2008 in the municipality of Schönau-Berzdorf on the Eigen in the district of Görlitz in Saxony.

This lake, which was created through open-cast mining, was flooded in 1999 and is located near Zittau. From hiking, swimming, swimming, beach volleyball, cycling on specially designed cycle paths to trendy sports such as surfing and Nordic walking, the lake offers a wide selection of leisure activities. About 1 km away there is a stop for the steam-powered narrow-gauge railway on the Zittau - Jonsdorf or Zittau - Kurort Oybin route.
