Beautiful stretch of sandy beach on Lake Bärwalder.

These lakes are post-mining landscape. So not a naturally created landscape, but only created by human activity. The mining of the lignite seams left depressions that filled with water over time after the open-cast mines were abandoned and now form a small lake district in the Moscow fold.

The Rakotzbrücke has finally been completely renovated and has been accessible again since mid-July 2021. The bridge with the distinctive arch attracts photographers from all over the world. After the restoration of the ensemble in Kromlau, the community now has one problem child less.

The numerous shelters and beautifully designed rest areas are commendable, not only on the Boxberg beach, but on the entire circular route. The Boxberg beach area offers a textile, nudist and dog beach. The highlight is certainly the harbor in Klitten, but the entire circular route is fantastically beautiful. With wind and waves, you get that Baltic Sea feeling. The physical well-being is numerous and varied. I can also imagine the circular route as a hike.

Rakotzbrücke - the mystical Devil's Bridge in the east ... Deep in the east of Germany on the border with Poland lies a bridge that has become famous in recent years thanks to Instagram: the Rakotzbrücke. The pictures show a semicircular bridge over a lake, surrounded by a densely tree-covered bank, which, together with its reflection in the water surface, forms a perfect round circle. The small but imposing bridge from the 19th century looks dark and mystical - a real devil's bridge. However, the Rakotzbrücke is not quite as remote as the pictures suggest - it is located in a landscape park, the Rhododendron Park Kromlau, a district of the municipality of Gablenz in the district of Görlitz.
