Sparham Pools is a wetland nature reserve in a former gravel quarry. The chalk streams that feed the ponds are clear and clean and the area is now rich in wildlife. The Whitlingham Great Broad is one of two lakes in Whitlingham Country Park, a wonderful expanse of countryside along the River Yare. A cycle path leads along the water's edge through peaceful nature. The lake is a popular spot for water sports like wild swimming and stand up paddleboard.

On the outskirts of Norwich you can really enjoy nature at this lake. The bike path leads right along the shore, so you have a beautiful view of the water. In addition to waterfowl, you can also watch sailors, rowers or open water swimmers on the lake.
