Sensational look. You can see from the Piz Buin over the Schesaplana to the Säntis in the east and to the south you can also see the Western Alps with their many 4,000-meter peaks.

Absolutely beautiful natural paradise for the various fish and also the bird island is worth a visit. Bringing binoculars is recommended. There are beautiful paths around the lakes for hiking or cycling.

The 'top' (northernmost) lake in front of the bridge over the Ablach is open for swimming. All others are reserved for the animals. The Schwackenreuter lake district is a nature reserve. There is a sign with a map near the parking lot at the viewing platform, on which this bathing lake is named and described as Lake No. 6. --- The Schwackenreuter lakes are pure nature. Wild life testifies to the power of nature. A diverse flora and fauna has developed there from what the gravel quarrying wonderfully modeled and left to us. This is a place to stay. Here you can let your soul dangle. In the middle of the nature reserve, there is a bathing lake. Access is open, swimming is free, but at your own risk. Enjoy bathing in a natural lake. Numerous waterfowl have become accustomed to the presence of humans. However, it is advisable to always keep a reasonable distance. The Haldenhof is not only suitable for a rest on the hike, several benches invite you to do so. It also offers a fantastic view over the lake, especially breathtaking in good weather. There is also the several hundred year old "Burkhartlinde".

Located about 3 kilometers southwest of Mengen. In addition to the bathing lake, there are other lakes with rich fish stocks.
