The hike from Lauenensee to the Geltenhütte SAC is a fantastic mountain hike with waterfalls, alpine scenery, and spectacular scenery ⛰️💧🌿. Route: Starts at the Lauenensee parking lot (CHF 15). The trail initially leads leisurely along the lake, then steadily ascends through the Gelten and Lauibach valleys. Impressive waterfalls and rock faces abound. You reach the Geltenhütte (2,002 m) after about 2.5 to 3 hours (approx. 620 m elevation gain). Highlights: ✅ Idyllic Lauenensee right at the start ✅ Wild waterfalls ✅ Quiet, well-marked mountain trail ✅ Refreshments & overnight stay at the Geltenhütte SAC 🛏️🍲 ✅ Possibility of extending the hike, e.g. B. to the Arpelistock Equipment: Sturdy hiking boots 🥾, weather protection 🧥, plenty of water & snacks 💧🥪, and possibly walking poles 🦯. In early summer, there may be patches of snow – surefootedness is required. Recommendation: Set off early in the morning ⏰, especially on warm days – the trail is exposed to the sun.

Above the stable building, there's a wooden hut with a refrigerator selling alpine cheese and drinks. Combined with the view, it's a real hit!

At Huus am See, you'll not only enjoy regional and seasonal cuisine, but also a pedal boat or rowboat for a quick trip out on the water. Those who prefer a more wetter experience can also try stand-up paddling.

From the edge of Gstaad village at 1,047 meters, you can take the gondola lift, which climbs approximately 900 meters in altitude, to the Höhi Wispile mountain station. Cable car operations for the 2025 summer season begin on June 14, 2025, and run until October 12, 2025.

The Grubenberg Hut, located at 1840 m above sea level in the heart of the picturesque Saanenland, welcomes hikers, mountaineers and mountain lovers in an authentic and relaxing environment. At the foot of the spectacular limestone formations of the Gastlosen, it is the ideal starting point for trekking, climbing and snowshoeing in winter. With genuine and hospitable cuisine, the hut offers half board on weekends and traditional dishes for hikers passing through. Its cozy rooms, warm atmosphere and breathtaking view make every stay a unique experience.

Alpine cheese and drinks in self-service

The Gryden shelter is intended as a shelter in the event of sudden weather events. There are no special facilities there. Please leave the hut clean.
