The Wedderborg is named after the village of Wedde, which is located nearby. The part that remains of the old stone house, the cellar, dates from the second half of the 15th century. Nowadays it is a children's hotel for young people who have social and societal difficulties. The borg and the museum are free to visit.

Great restored complex of the most original chieftain's house in East Frisia. In addition to a large, free car park, there is a beautiful, well-kept park. There are also lots of benches and a beautiful pond.

The old garden was renovated in 2022. They did their best to renovate that garden, because a few large old trees were blown over by a heavy storm. The paths and old parts in the garden had also completely subsided, and the Veenborg itself really needed a makeover to look as beautiful as it used to. The Groninger Landschap has made great efforts to restore the old glory of the garden and the Veenborg.
