The Hôtel de Pincé, an important Angevin Renaissance building converted into a museum at the end of the 19th century, is a place where one can discover the ancient Mediterranean, pre-Columbian and Asian civilizations. The Angers fortress impresses with its ramparts and towers made of schist and limestone. Built in the 13th century under the orders of Louis IX, it was transformed into a stately residence by the Dukes of Anjou in the 15th century. The castle, its 17 defensive towers and its moat transformed into gardens can be visited all year round.
