Helle Haltben is located on a municipal property somewhere in Hald, but where exactly she is located cannot be revealed. Because it is part of the concept of the Troll Route, which Helle Haltben has now joined, that curious people have to go in search of the big trolls. In this case, the troll hunters can go in search of both Helle Haltben and the one leg that she has lost. The lost leg serves as a shelter where you can spend the night. Volunteers from Hald helped in various ways. Some helped with the actual construction of the troll. Only the head and leg were prefabricated at Thomas Dambo. Others provided the workers with food, coffee and cake. Therefore, a handful of locals were constantly involved in the construction task, which was carried out in cooperation with Thomas Dambo's people. “In addition, the students from the four oldest classes at Ørslevkloster Skole made the necklace for Helle Haltben, so we really stuck together here and are very proud that everything worked out,” says Kirsten Jakobsen.

The approximately 66 km long railway line between Løgstør and Hobro was opened in 1893. In 1966, passenger traffic on the line was discontinued. In the following years, it was only used for freight traffic. The last freight train ran in 1999. Directly on the bank of the canal is the former home of the canal master, dating from 1863. Today it houses the Limfjord Museum Løgstør, which provides information about the culture and history of the people living on the fjord. And directly in front of the impressive building is the bridge, which was completed in 1861 and is considered to be the oldest functioning swing bridge in Denmark. As a tourist attraction, the 25-ton swing bridge is swung over the canal and opened on a few days in the summer.

The site is located at Høgevej in the middle of the plantation, approx. 800 m east of Kollerup Strandvej. The site can be accessed on foot or by bicycle. Facilities on the site: fire pit with grill grate and dirt toilet. Water dispenser in the car park by the dog forest. There is 1 shelter on the site with room for 7 people. This shelter cannot be booked and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

You can observe nature from the lookout, binoculars are available. Inside the lookout, the history of the origins and transformation of the lake is explained, as well as which birds can be found on the lake.
