Beautiful in every season and always great reflections

At present, the pond is quite close to the state of the legend and not very attractive

A very beautiful park. The 32-hectare park, freely accessible, surrounding Rauischholzhausen Castle, is a great destination for a tour or a stopover.

The "Jungfernloch" (Jungfern Hole) is a quiet spot with a small cottage and a deep forest pond in front of it. Unfortunately, today (May 1, 2024), no reflection could be seen because the water surface was not clear enough. Legend has it that a maiden from Homberg Castle drowned here along with her white horse many hundreds of years ago.

There is a lovely barbecue hut on the "Black Sea". The area in front of it is also ideal for a rest break.

The Rauischholzhausen Castle with its park with old trees is a real highlight in the Ebsdorfergrund and is always worth a visit. From the castle you can go deeper and deeper into the castle park on various paths/paths until it then merges seamlessly into the forest towards Dreihausen or Wittelsberg or towards Höingen.

More of a small pond than a sea, but you can walk around it to add a few meters to your tour. ;)
