Nice place for a rest and very interesting.

The Forest House, located in the Saint-Hubert Forest of Sarralbe, was built between 1869 and 1871. It is the former hunting lodge of Baron Ferdinand de Schmid. Built of cut stone, its two towers give it the appearance of a castle. Its ornaments, affixed to the top of its pediment and keystone, are worth a visit. Enjoy your walk by exploring the arboretum located opposite the lodge, as well as the Mardelles trail.

Under the very rock, which forms a rock shelter, lived for a long time the hermit known as "the Falkenfels", from 1895 until his death in 1902. There is no certainty about the origins of Edouard Hinbeer, nicknamed friendly by the population and in the archives the Waldbruder (brother of the forest). A valiant man, he looked after the pigs of the commune of Hellert. The population esteemed him, considered him a holy man and took turns bringing him their midday meals.

The Chalet Amis de la Nature Glück Auf Hütte is a mountain hut that follows the tradition of the Amis de la Nature (Friends of Nature). The Friends of Nature are an international movement committed to protecting the environment and promoting environmentally conscious tourism. The name "Glück Auf" comes from the miners' tradition and was a typical greeting in the mining industry that wished for prosperity and safety. Such huts often offer overnight accommodation and food for hikers and travelers and are located in scenic areas that invite outdoor activities such as hiking and relaxation.
