Fresh air and easy walking through a well maintained trail. What's not to love?

Stepping onto the pier from the ferry, you're greeted to Fjärdlång by a wood "welcome" sign. Facilities in season include a cafe/kiosk. Nearby is a fire-pit, benches, dry toilet and a telephone.

The bay here is very sheltered, before it opens out into the wider and deeper inlet of Mörkviken.

Gråberget (“the grey hill/rock”) is quite a common name in Sweden. Here on Ornö, you'll find a small but distinct hill with great views across the western shores.

Telegrafberget is the island’s highest point at around 60 metres (197 ft) and a notable viewpoint. An optical telegraph station once stood here in the 1800s, today there’s an observation tower with great views over the archipelago.

Ornö Kyrkviken (literally "The Church Cove") is a pretty little guest harbour in a sheltered bay. There's a Deli and pizza restaurant, bar & bistro and cafe very close by - perfect for relaxing and watching the boating activity on the water.

Although it's a bit off the beaten track for a car ferry, there's a heated waiting shelter where you can buy tickets and charge your phone. Online tickets aren't available through Waxholmsbolaget/the SL app, but rather through ornosjotrafik.se.
