This far and no further? No way, the fun only starts at the source, because from here you can hike up to Monte Falerio (684 m), although it is also a steep climb.

If taking the path back to Amalfi there is one steep section with no barrier as the track has been rerouted around landslip. Caution and sticks are needed.

An early start improves the experience as you avoid crowds along the track and at the final waterfalls which are beautiful and worth paying the entrance fee.

At the beginning of April, the hike from St Lazarro to Valle de Ferrere was quite nice, but in comparison, not really recommendable. The forests are coppice forests, still leafless, only a few early bloomers and salamander larvae, a single orchid. In the end, at 3 p.m., we stood in front of a closed waterfall. That's a bit stupid. But understandable, hardly any people there. In some places, poorly signposted.

It's a beautiful waterfall. From Maiori following the "Path of the Madonna dell'Avvocata", you need to make a detour to reach the spring/waterfall, and then take the main path again at the height of a "Ruin" (see Highlight) and reach the Sanctuary. To reach the waterfall, wear normal hiking clothes, for the sanctuary, sturdy shoes and good physical shape!

This last part of the path is home to magnificent waterfalls including a main one for which you have to pay a €5 ticket before accessing it. I highly recommend that you do.

Final part of the hike, with mega-waterfall is just a few hundred meters, but definitely worth 5€ entrance fee.

The Cesare spring can be reached from Albori along path 303A. Once you reach the source, you can decide to continue on path 303A which leads to Cetara or go up the mountain, following the CAI indications, to reach the Cappella Nuova or Monte Falerio (not recommended in the summer because the thick vegetation tends to cover the paths making the excursion difficult).

From Albori begins a path that leads to the Cesare spring, a narrow cemented road about 800 meters long. At the source, in addition to the waterfall, we also find a fountain for refreshment.

The hike is definitely worth it, but I think €5 per person is pretty steep, as is the parking fee of €50 for 8 hours. We took the return route via Pogerola. I would classify the tour as difficult!

In a small hut there is a guard who collects the entrance fee. 2.50 p.p. A little further on there is his mule tied up, with which he covers the sometimes adventurous route from Amalfi here. Attention: When we were there it was closed at 15:00
