The castle dates back to the 12th century and is now a listed building. It is not open to the public, but the view from outside is impressive. And the view of the surrounding landscape is pure enjoyment.

" Greifenberg Castle: The former imperial Austrian hunting lodge Greifenberg (originally called Greifenstein) in the upper Radmertal with four-story round corner towers dates back to a castle building around the year 1600. It was built at the time under the ennobled lawyer Johann Baptist Linsmayr von Greiffenberg (1542–1608). , grandfather of the baroque poet Catharina Regina von Greiffenberg, the seat of a trade and was structurally given its current appearance. In the 19th century it belonged to Seitenstetten Abbey in Lower Austria, and at the end of the century it became a hunting lodge for the Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph. As an inheritance from the heir to the throne, the Archduke After Franz Ferdinand von Habsburg-Este was murdered in Sarajevo in 1914, it passed to his morganatic descendants, the princes and dukes of Hohenberg. When there is snow it is a little difficult to get to the viewpoint. But once you get there you can see the Seckau Tauern beautifully. There isn't much left of the Ehrenfels ruins.
