Añes is located on a hill at the bottom of the Llanteno Valley, at the foot of the Sierra Salvada, crowned by a vertical rock wall. The landscape is characterized by oak and ash forests in the first foothills of the mountain range, and by meadows and rocks as the altitude increases.

A church of early medieval origin located in Ayala/Aiara, Álava, with pre-Romanesque elements in the walls and visible Romanesque remains. Its Romanesque doorway on the south wall is notable, with decorated archivolts, reused modillions, and a tympanum depicting Original Sin, unique in Álava. An early medieval necropolis with slab tombs has been documented in the surrounding area, indicating very early monastic use.

Here you'll find the beautiful Sojo Church, complete with benches and a parking area. It's well worth a visit!

On the GR route to Pico Pajares.

Just off the trail, you'll find this charming little chapel on the GR. A perfect place to stop for a moment.

Hornes is a small town that is located near the Ordunte Reservoir, just above the same swamp and on its west side.
