Brilliant little scramble, very safe and managable 😊

This is the ankle killer part ! One step forward 2 back and a twist and turn 🤪 its worse coming down than going up, be careful with your footing and if you slip or skid go with it 😣 good luck.

This is a short but high ascent of a scramble called Foxes Rake. It is a relatively easy scramble but if wet would be very slippy. This takes you up to a plateau where Foxes Tarn should be if not in drought (it was) and then you can choose if you want to play and scramble again up stagger up what was grass banking as such. Once at the top you can tap out on Scafell Cairn the 2nd highest Fell in the Lakes.

The weather can change 20 times before you summit. Make sure you have layers and if possible a hot drink. Ive done this twice both in August's and have been sun burnt on the bottom and wind burnt on the top. 😵‍💫

Hard walk on top of scree, will have you breathing heavy at the top

A super cool historical spot to visit. Once you get up there, you really understand why the Romans built their camp on this site. The views across the valley to the sea are incredible, and the full 360° panorama is stunning, taking in most of the tallest moutains in Cumbria. The ruins, though not heavily intact, still give a clear sense of the camp’s layout and how different sections may have been used. More than anything, standing there makes it easy to see why and how the Romans chose this location—a fascinating stop along the way.
