Worth seeing old Norman fortress.

With a square plan and 4 spear-shaped bastions at the corners, it was built by the Normans in 1090 and subsequently enlarged by the Swabians.

Standing in front of the cathedral, you can admire another impressive building right on the sea: the Castle of Trani (Castello Svevo di Trani).

It took over 600 years to build the castle of Barletta, the work was begun in the 11th century by the Normans and finished in the 17th century. Over this period of time, the castle has undergone many architectural changes. The best-known architectural elements are the four corner bastions. You can visit both the castle and the civic museum.

The castle of Barletta dates back to the Norman era and today it is well maintained. Overlooking the sea, it enjoys an enviable panorama.

Minervino Murge rises over 400 m above sea level on the western side of the Murge. The city is rich in history and some evidence of it can still be visited, including the Norman castle, the Romanesque cathedral and the votive lighthouse.
