Very worth seeing, you have to see it

With its 3,343 meters of altitude, Punta Penia is the highest peak of the Marmolada and of all the Dolomites. Climbed for the first time in 1864 by the Viennese Paul Grohmann, pioneer of mountaineering, with the Ampezzo guides Angelo and Fulgenzio Dimai. On the summit there is a small refuge, perfect for those who want to find refreshment and a roof over their heads: the Capanna Punta Penia, managed for years by Carlo Budel.

Thanks to its strategic position, the Auronzo refuge offers easy access to one of the most famous excursions in the area. In addition to being a convenient stopping point, the refuge has hospitable services and a kitchen that serves tasty local dishes, perfect after a day of trekking.

Convenient place to reach, whether starting from the Giau pass or from Falzarego. We followed a circular route starting from Falzarego, then reaching Averai, Nuvolau, the 5 Torri and finally returning from Col Gallina.

Standard starting point for climbing tours to the Three Peaks, but also a tourist magnet. The food is ok, nothing more or less. On quieter days the staff is really friendly, otherwise it gets lost in the rush of tourists. Nothing as a goal in itself, but useful for the cake when you're there.

Mount Civetta, at 3,220 meters above sea level, is the highest peak in the Zoldo Dolomites. From here the panoramic view is endless: hundreds of peaks, valleys and forests intermingle creating a unique postcard. On clear days you can even see the tops of the Austrian Alps.

The summit is very easy to hike, even for older people and families, easily accessible from the Rifugio. The Kaisersteig runs from the pass to the summit with alpine experience and an A/B climbing section. The view of the Marmolada, Sella Group, Fanes Mountains, Cinpue Torri with Nuvolau is of course breathtakingly beautiful.

The normal route covers many unstable turns. The steep passages are equipped via Ferrata on better rock. Race to be undertaken with the necessary mountain baggage.
