To get a really beautiful view, you should climb another 100 meters higher behind the hut and can enjoy the entire Karwendel mountain range.

On the high trail above Wallgau, there are numerous information boards about Magdalena Neuner. There are also beautiful views of Wallgau and towards Mittenwald.

The wide riverbed clearly demonstrates the power of water—even when the Isar is perhaps just babbling along. Between Mittenwald and Wallgau, it's also easy to observe how people interact with the river, for example, at the reservoir and hydroelectric power plant in Krün or in bedload management (removal/relocation of gravel).

The bridge connects the town of Krün to the eastern cycling and hiking path along the Isar River. Numerous hiking and biking trails open from here. Swimming or entering the Isar's banks is not recommended. These areas are breeding grounds and also home to rare flora.
