Beware: Exorbitant prices for canoeing! Unfortunately, mooring at this dock is now only free for a maximum of two hours; anything beyond that is billed via the "Parkster" parking app at the exorbitant price of around €15.00 per day and monitored by the public order office. You must download the app. As before, the dock offers paid electricity, no sanitary facilities, and no proper waste disposal. The planks leading to the stalls are partially outdated and rotten. The price is disproportionately high, and the municipality seems to benefit from it or see no need for maintenance – but it's certainly a win-win situation for the authorities and, above all, the Swedish technology company "Parkster." The beautiful tradition of canoeing has lost a place to linger here. Tip: It's better to moor with the clubs in Bad Sarow; similar costs but significantly better infrastructure and company.

The Scharmützelsee is a lake in Brandenburg. It lies between Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin, south of Fürstenwalde/Spree. The water hiking rest area in Diensdorf has a permanent pier. From a somewhat hidden bench you have a wonderful view of the lake. Next to the water hiking rest area is the restaurant terrace of the "Märkisches Meer" hotel. There is a volleyball court, a tent area, seating pavilions and caravan and car parking spaces.

To mark the 200th anniversary of Fontane's birthday in 2019, sixteen panels with quotes from Theodor Fontane were erected on the peninsula covered in deciduous forest. The Berlin writer and journalist passed by here on his Easter hike through the Mark Brandenburg in 1881. The quotes were cut into panels made of Corten steel using laser technology and screwed onto concrete slabs. The highlight is a steel telescope entitled "View into Nothingness". It refers to a sentence by Fontane from 1881: "There is nothing in Saarow, I know that, and here in Pieskow there is nothing at all."
