This 17th-century royal residence – surrounded by gardens, parkland and the Edsviken shoreline – is managed by the Swedish Royal Court and can be visited during its seasonal opening months. Guided tours are available, and the adjoining Orangery Museum (part of Nationalmuseum) hosts a notable art collection. The boardwalk along Edsviken offers a peaceful stroll along the water (even above it!), with scenic views, benches to rest, and plenty of spots to enjoy nature and watch boats glide by.

WWF Sweden has offices in the side wing. The rest of the castle can be visited.

Ulriksdal's castle chapel was designed by the architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander and built in the 1860s on a promontory south of the castle. The chapel is designed in Dutch Neo-Renaissance with some inspiration from Venice.

The castle is beautifully situated on the lake / fjord. The park is huge and invites you to take a walk and rest.

Very nice stretch along Edsviken on a wooden bridge with great views. Please be aware of other hikers, cyclists etc.

Because its beautiful and this castle carry a lot of history. As a king I should use this castle as a summer house. It is built close to the water and a fantastic garden stretching out like in eternity, there its an open cafe with homebaked buns, muffin and cockies, very good!!!
