The Caledonia Falls in Cyprus are located near the village of Platres in Troodos. This beautiful waterfall is one of the highest in Cyprus and is surrounded by forest and is most popular in summer when it offers a cool and shady retreat from the strong midday sun. It was a nice short hike.

Trail shoes a must, some of the rocks are very sharp. Watch out for walkers and share the narrow path, it’s not a place to go for a PB. Especially at the weekends

The waterfall itself is not terribly impressive, but the short hike to get there is a nice one with lots of shade. Can get quite crowded, we were glad we combined it with the beautiful Pouziaris Hike nearby where we only ran into one other group on the whole trail (and they had gotten lost looking for the waterfall...)

The inflow of the waterfall is also worth seeing

The Artemis trail was fabulous so I added it onto my tour whilst trekking around to the view point. For me it was worth doing the whole trail. Beginning of March there was a lot of snow which meant it took longer (sinking in snow drifts up to my knees) but also the snow made it was very beautiful! Completely worth the wet feet (in hiking boots)!

The way could be slippery during winter because of snow and frost

You need to leave the path a bit and climb on the rocks. Long distance views, even to Promodos.

Second viewpoint of the Artemis trail.

Great views in all directions. You need to go the longer Pouziaris Trail, not the shortcut. Be prepared for some rocky paths...

2nd Waterfall, not far from the upper end (if you go the trail uphill) with a bench for nice break.

First of the two waterfalls, 1.5 km from the start... make sure you continue all the way to the 2nd.

At the intersection where the loop of the Pouziáris Trail closes again, a short detour leads to a wonderful viewpoint. The view extends over the forested mountains of the Tróodos Mountains down to the sea.
