You can run here, but because of the many pedestrians it's a slalom run.

Allegedly, General Johann T'Serclaes von Tilly stayed overnight in this house during the Thirty Years' War, but this is not documented. The house was originally located in Bevern and was relocated to Holzminden in 1609, as commemorated by an inscription in the Renaissance portal. The Reich President's House, like the gatehouse, dates back to the times of need between the world wars. Particularly worthwhile is the somewhat hidden glockenspiel (side facing out of town).

From the Holzminden Weser Bridge, you can see the old town and the old port. Very nice! 👍

The Heimat-Schützenverein Brenkhausen has set up a miniature shelter here. Very nice!

Tilly House was built in 1610 as the youngest part of the Heisterman von Ziehlbergschen Adelshof, immediately after the family had bought the house. In 1876 the Tillyhaus was extensively renovated and separated from the rest of the building. In 2008, the Tillyhaus, which had been vacant for about 20 years, was last saved from decay by a restoration.
