Now just look at this fellow. It's actually just a moldy tree stump on the side of the road that guards the entrance and exit to the Galtern Gorge. From a distance it looks like a mixture of a vulture and a lizard. But if you have an abundance of imagination, you might see it as another mythical creature. 🦄 We'd rather not run into it at night. But during the day it's completely harmless. At least that's what we think.

The Gottéron is full of mills that once made the prosperity of the city of Friborg. This is not a grain mill, but a kind of mill like one can see in the glacial region (Gletschermühle). This series of basins is dug in the molasse by the water and the pebbles which swirl there.

On the outskirts of Sankt Ursen is the Sankt Ursus Chapel, which was built around 1539 and was last restored in the 1980s. The pointed turret clad with wooden shingles and the decorative interior painting from the 17th century are special.

The townscape of Tafers is characterized by the church of St. Martin and the two neighboring chapels. The polygonal church tower with the spire covered with wooden shingles dates from the 16th century. On the central square are also the Michaelskapelle and the Jakobskapelle, the latter impresses with its artistic wall paintings.
