Start this hike early in the day. I started late and ended up doing the steep rocky descent when it was getting dark and drizzling, which made it feel much harder. Once you hit the lakes it becomes easy, but the upper rocky section needs proper shoes and slow steps. Leave the summit before 3 PM so you reach the lakes in daylight. With better timing and good grip shoes, this route becomes a smooth and enjoyable hike instead of a long, tiring one.

I only walked part of PYG Track on the way up to the Crib Goch diversion. But this seemed a very straightforward hiking path to follow.

Miners track is a good beginners route for ¾ but it requires an element of really low level climbing for the last ¼.

Llyn Llydaw (the name comes from the Welsh and means Brittany Lake) is a long, thin lake. It is one of the most visited lakes in the UK. Many walk past this lake on the Miners' Track.

With Komoot we planned a tour around the lake. But there is no such way (anymore). So we turned around and hiked the other way up to the climb. The possible routes are shown on the map with the photos of the tour.

Miners' Track was built to serve the Britannia Copper Mine. However, the track wasn't the route used to serve the mine initially. Before the route's existence, miners lugged copper up the eastern slopes of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to be drawn by horse and sledge down to Llyn Cwellyn.
