Gavilanes is a small municipality in Ávila, with only 600 inhabitants. It has a natural pool in the Chorro gorge, located southwest of the town, on Pedro Bernardo Avenue. However, its greatest attraction, which is worth visiting, is the waterfall in the Chorro gorge, two kilometers from the town, near the Machine House. It is the highest waterfall in the community.

From the small town of Navamediana and along an old cobbled path, the path leads us along the gorge to the high mountain of Gredos. The first section of the path runs through an oak forest. The sound of jays and other small birds accompany us. The sound of the water becomes more intense as we approach the bed of the gorge. We feel the freshness of the riverside vegetation and ascending the left bank we trace the course of the river guided by the sound of the water. THE intense smell of cantuesos and thyme will follow us for much of the way if we choose spring to take this route. At the highest part, a grove of aspen and later birch trees outline the gorge. Higher up the sound of the water becomes more intense, the water runs capriciously, jumping and drawing numerous waterfalls that will delight the walker. The path ascends with a steeper slope between large stones to overcome the threshold and lead us to the end of our route, returning us to tranquility and silence at this point.

With a drop of between 80 and 90 meters, the jetty of the boat gives us an impressive view of the natural flow of things through the discharge of the waters of the Horco stream into the Caballeros throat.

Located at the end of the Pescadores path to Charca de los Cachizos, this cozy place allows us to stop to refresh ourselves halfway through the route. Its lack of accommodation for bathing is not a problem, the waters are deep enough to immerse us in its refreshing current, and we can even drop down its natural slide.

They are spectacular waterfalls, however you have to follow the track scrupulously to get to where you can see it, since the path is not marked.

This impressive granite canyon offers incredible views of the rock formations along the course of the river. There are several waterfalls that fall at different heights and form pools of crystal clear water. This section is, for the most part, an adapted stone walkway that zigzags along the gorge. However, there are also parts of loose stones.

Between Arenas de San Pedro and Guisando we will find a natural pool not equipped for bathing (although it is usually done).
