The bridge-acqueduct of en Labau allowed, from the 14th century, the canal which passed on the right bank of the Têt to join the left bank, before the Rodès canal was dug in the gorges of La Guillère.

Canals have been feeding Perpignan for a very long time. In the 14th century, a Royal canal was thus built. The works undergoing the floods, different routes have been carried out with always major restorations of the works. The Rodès canal, still in use, was created in the 18th century following one of these floods.

Nice hike along the canal. In the shade even in summer. The gorge and the tunnels of the canal on one side and the Têt on the other are a delight. Watch out for dogs and small children. The water current is strong.
