We climbed on March 6th. The beech forest in its winter glory is a marvel, with a carpet of dry leaves on the ground and tiny patches of snow here and there. The view is stunning!

Yes, we also had easy access to the campsite, but unfortunately, we had to take a detour through the main entrance to get out. We only wanted to hike along the lake.

The trail is accessible again. A path has been laid around the private property, although it's not yet signposted everywhere. But it's fairly easy to find.

The path leads past Lake Mergozzo, with its destination, Mergozzo, a place that will surely awaken joy. Nature and stone in fine harmony – come with us, the path invites you. At Montorfano, proud and grand, granite was formed here – ancient, magnificent. Crystals sparkle, white and black, a stone with primeval resin. For centuries, stone has been quarried, as far as Rome and Milan, it bore its radiance. A hiking trail with views and splendor, tells you of the power of the rock.

The northern section of the route is no longer accessible as it ends in a dead end (private property). Those who don't want to climb over fences and ladders should follow the road for the circular route.

Lake very close to Lake Maggiore, its waters are of a wonderful colour.
