Founded in 1246 by the Earl of Cornwall, Hailes Abbey was once the centre of monastic life. The ruins are set in a picturesque landscape and are a wonderful place to relax.

It contains very interesting information of how the world's highest gravity-powered fountain works.

Nice views from this monument down over Hailes Abbey and the Cotswold’s. It's at 269 m which gives good views to the north and west.

Fast, flowing and not too bumpy tree lined track. The views towards Salter's Hill and the orchards below are simply stunning but don't look for too long, the descent is rather fast!

Quaint and slightly ramshackle smallholding with a tremendous variety of herbs and chili plants to buy - everything from a mild Havana Gold (500 scoville) all the way to the scorchingly hot Carolina Reaper (1 million scoville!). Super-friendly and very knowledgable owners. They also sell ice creams and chili sausages / burgers (card payments accepted).
